klaus is back (mostly)

Post by klaus » Sun Mar 29, 2015 5:01 pm

Hey everyone! It's been a long time.

I stopped playing a while back because the mac that I was playing on years back just couldn't handle any gaming anymore and was too annoying to even try. Also, since I last played with you, I have gone through 1.5 drastic career changes (including going back to school for an MBA that is completely unrelated to prior education/experience/life/etc.), as well as had 2 kids (the second one very recently, which is why I won't be back on as often as I'd like). With all that, even if my old computer didn't suck ass, I still didn't have had a lot of time for gaming.

However, life is mostly stable again, and I just convinced my wife to let me build a pretty kickass PC, so I'll be putting it to good use whenever I can. Will be hanging out in CS:GO, BFH, and CS:S (when the server is not empty).

Excited to be back and hopefully will see you all soon in game!

Klaus

P.S.
Apologies if I randomly go AFK on you from time to time in game...all the baby's fault :)

Welcome sir! Noticed you were in the forums a while ago and said to myself wow that's someone I haven't seen in a long while. Nice to hear from you. TeamSpeak is where it's at so hop in and say hello if you are around.

Pics is definitely on my list of things to do...Forgot to mention that I'm also moving this week, so probably won't be till after that. Plus I'm still in a bit of trouble for how much I went over budget, so I don't want to be rubbing it in my wife's face.

In the meantime, here's the build part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/8yr7YJ

I plan on learning how to overclock it when I have the time, but even at stock it's pretty ridiculous compared to anything I've had before

Hope one of those drives is for backup! Look forward to the pictures when you post them on our PC & Tech Corner! (wink wink nudge nudge)

The small ssd is for windows, the big one for documents and other software (probably going to partition some of that off for a linux dual boot), and then the hdd is split between media and backup.

The only one I bought new for the build was the smallest one. The others were salvaged, but I couldn't use the 512 drive until I had the new comp running to pull everything off the Mac first.
